Chair’s Message

Today’s business environment is becoming increasingly more globalized than at any period of time in the past. For CPAs, this means a whole new set of rules, regulations, and compliance issues that our domestic clients must deal with. It has also opened up a multitude of opportunities with foreign-owned companies that now must navigate the U.S. tax code. We have noticed an increased amount of questions relating to basic international taxation issues as well as an increase in questions involving very complicated tax matters. For this reason we have expanded this year’s conference to two days in order to satisfy practitioners with varying degrees of experience and needs.

FAE’s annual International Taxation Conference has always served as the premier source of international tax knowledge in the industry. This year, on day one, January 24, we will focus on the basic international tax issues which practitioners face on a daily basis. On day two, January 25, we will explore intermediate international tax concepts that the more experienced practitioner must understand in order to serve their clients and comply with the complex rules and regulations within the international arena. This knowledge is critical in this new world of globalization. Whether your current clients are domestically based and are expanding internationally, or you service a foreign client now bringing its business to the United States, this conference will provide you with the important details and updates you need to further your relationship with them.

Cross-border affairs have always been some of the more confusing tax areas in our profession, and more likely than not, we are all going to be dealing with them in the coming year. Our fantastic lineup of speakers will cover the most important topics such as how to structure doing business abroad, compliance for both inpats and expats, understanding the foreign tax credit and the complex related sourcing rules and gaining an understanding of the recent developments within the international arena as well as the FATCA and related regulations and much more. We hope to greet you once again this year for two full days of crucial tax information.
